The Religious Organization “The Romanian Orthodox Church in Ukraine Religious Association” is a Ukrainian private-law legal entity (currently undergoing recognition), non-patrimonial (non-profit), apolitical, and non-governmental. It comprises the religious communities (parishes and monasteries) and other religious organizations of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Ukraine, which have voluntarily united to meet collectively their religious needs, for the joint exercise of the right to freedom of religion and the spreading of the Orthodox faith in the language of the national minorities (communities) - the Romanian language, as well as for the support of religious and moral education.
The Church operates in accordance with its own organizational structure and, in its activities, is guided by Holy Scripture and Holy Tradition, strictly observing the principles of the Orthodox faith, the Holy Canons, and the decisions of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
The purpose of the Church’s activity is to contribute to meeting the religious needs of ethnic Romanian Orthodox believers in Ukraine; to coordinate the actions of its members, encouraging their interaction; to provide its members with comprehensive assistance in organizational, spiritual, and social matters; to ensure the fulfilment of their statutory activities; to unite their efforts for the development and strengthening of the national and religious life of Romanians living in the territory of Ukraine; and to provide for their religious and moral education.
The Romanian Orthodox Church in Ukraine has as its principal objectives ensuring the exercise of the religious and spiritual life of Romanian Orthodox believers; promoting the faith and teaching of the Orthodox Church; and carrying out religious, missionary, cultural and educational, social, and charitable activities, in accordance with its own Statute, and the decisions of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
